Retro Summer Lovin'- Part Two

Part two of our retro summer romance includes all things lounge and reception. Like the ceremony, we wanted to incorporate tons of oranges and reds to re-create that beautiful beach sunset. One of my favorite colors to work with lately is a terracotta orange or rust orange. I love how subtle it can be, as well as having a very retro vibe. The beautiful furniture from Adorn also paired perfectly with the florals. The vintage green and leather accent chairs created the complete color palette for the style we were working towards.

The reception was held in Wiki Wiki’s private dining room, on the second floor. This gave a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the main area of the restaurant. The reception table was a symphony of oranges and burgundies. Charleston Flower Girl not only created gorgeous table arrangements to accompany the orange and blue wall mural, but put together this amazing floral installation above the table. The installation was the dramatic piece needed to tie the tablescape to the wall colors. Another detail that we incorporated were hexagon shaped calligraphy place cards. Designed by CU BO the gold calligraphy was another detail we used to tie in with the colors as well as the hexagon shape that was used throughout the shoot.

As a I mentioned above, hexagons were a running theme throughout the shoot. This beautiful cake by The Cake Stand, not only tied into this, but they also used the rust orange colors that we used throughout. Cake florals were added and the backdrop for this splendid masterpiece was our Ginevra hexagon shelf. The Hawaiian themed food was provided by Wiki Wiki and the menu was just so delicious we added a few of our favorites below, but be sure to stop if you get the chance to check out all the amazing items on their menu!

What’s a wedding ( or styled bridal shoot ) without a fun spot for the perfect photo op. Connected to the private dining area was an outdoor area perfect for a photo backdrop. We used our Tonks Hexagon Backdrop as the main event and styled it with retro radios, cameras, cactus, votives, and the perfect vintage rug from Adorn. We had a cute bamboo table set from Adorn that paired perfectly with our vintage peacock chair and tuft. So strike a pose and grab a friend!

Nothing like a gorgeous vintage car to send you off in style. Lowcountry Valet has a fleet of cars and buses that would make any vintage lover’s dreams come true! For this shoot we featured their 1950’s Packard Bernard to round out our retro inspired shoot. We got to say we think it was the perfect cherry on top. We hope you enjoyed this ride through our Retro Summer Lovin’ styled shoot and hope it gives you some inspiration for your big day, elopement, or any event you are planning. Remember it’s all in the details and better outside of the box!
